Stilt Studio has created an addition to an existing building called Grun Canggu in Bali, the perfect location for Airbnb. Studio N is a spacious one bedroom studio built in four separate buildings of 745 square meters or 8019 square feet.

“Studio N was designed to seamlessly integrate indoor and outdoor life and enhance views of vast rice paddies while remaining low-tech and minimalist in its design,” says Teresa Shannen Budihardjo, Head of Architectural Design at Stilt Studios.
The structure is raised approximately 16 inches above the ground on stilts to reduce footprint and environmental impact. Large casement window panels combined with natural wood elements create a simple yet elegant design.

“For this location, we wanted to highlight the surrounding landscape and how the concept of indoor and outdoor living brings nature inside,” says Kokorda GB Suryanata, director of product design at Stilt Studios.
The open floor plan combined with low, casual yet elegant furniture creates a natural sense of flow in the space. Studio N is also designed for hospitality with a mix of indoor and outdoor living. The living room then opens onto the rice fields, where there is a barbecue area, a fire pit, a small pool, a garden and outdoor seating areas.
In addition, Stilt Studios has its own hospitality business run by Grun Kangu. These processes enable the development of highly reproducible and optimized devices for life. The open floor plan offers efficient space with adjoining living and sleeping areas as well as a bathroom. The house also has a fully equipped kitchen for visitors interested in longer stays.
Studio N's design vision of "easy to walk on the ground" is an updated version of the old Tetrapod design by the architects. They improved the design by using prefabricated building elements and purchasing sustainable building materials. Stilt Studios says that in the process of designing these buildings, they have learned to select responsible materials, increase waste reduction through prefabrication, and save time to reduce the building's carbon footprint.
Studio N uses solar panels, recycled wood floors, recycled river plastic for bathroom panels and more to create the perfect sustainable retreat.
