Walmart has gone from stores open 24/7 to limited hours, opening every morning and closing their doors before most people go to bed. Other grocers and stores followed, leaving odd hours for key workers to shop in the middle of the night to figure out how to get their produce.
And not all retailers have reverted to their old clock, either due to ongoing health issues or labor shortages. However, you can probably find 24/7 locations in your area that will suit your needs.

Among the store's pioneers is 7-Eleven, which traces its history back to the Southland Ice Company, which sold ice from docks in Dallas and San Antonio in the late 1920s. Later, ice retail stores opened longer hours and sold groceries. In 1946, the growing chain of stores became known as 7-Eleven, reflecting the daily hours of 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Denny's was known for never closing its doors, but the pandemic changed that. As of January, only 50 percent of the 640 Denny's restaurants in the U.S. were open full time, according to Restaurant Business. At the time, about 2% of the company's restaurants opened each month.
