RINGTONE - This is the opposite of Christmas magic.
Jim Amadon was going to bed at night when he was hit by what he called an "evil blast."
Turns out it was a FedEx tractor trailer that went off the road and into a woodworking shop.
Amadon posted a message on Facebook saying he would be out of work for a while and agreed to an interview with MTN News to talk about what happened.
"(I) looked from the window of my house and saw that there is a semi-finished product in the yard. I knew it would be ugly," Amazon said.
He said his son called the sheriff to report the accident when he went down to check on the driver.
He said that the driver complained of back pain, but his condition is stable.
"Of course, as far as I know, we are happy that the driver was not injured. The main thing is that no one died," Amadon explained. "He can be replaced, but he cannot."
While the drivers are generally good, Amazon is not.
According to Amazon, dealing with insurance companies is frustrating.
Amadon explained that the driver informed him about his insurance, but after that he had to take care of everything himself.
"I haven't heard from FedEx. The insurance company that I bought the driver from, I'm kind of addicted to it," Amadon said. - They asked me to assess all the damage and do everything, take photos. I asked if someone would come look and the girl only told me if the damage was over $2500. I told him that he demolished the foundation of the house, and I sent him a picture, and he said, "I will decide whether the damage will exceed $2,500, not you."
Amadon said he finished his carpentry work and the shop is taking inventory.
For this reason, this accident left him unemployed for a while and he also lost his completed projects waiting to be continued.
"It's a large block bed with blanket boxes that sells for $1,450. There's a king, a queen and five other queens with headboards, footboards and block beds. An entertainment center is $550," Amadon said. goes on and you do nothing all day. ."
Amadon says that it took time to develop this product, and he regrets that his hard work was wasted.
"It's kind of depressing when you see big wooden beds, dressers, desks, coffee tables and all that," says Amadon. - You love it when you do it. You look at it and say, "yes, it went well." Someone will love in their home."
Fortunately, Amazon customers understand this.
"Most of my customers tell me when I can return the furniture they need to pick up this week," Amadon said. "I had a business, but I lost a lot of property."
But Amazon isn't looking for donations. He just wanted the insurance company to resolve the situation.
"We are disappointed with the response. I am not responsible for this accident, but I have to do everything I can to heal him,” he said. is a living body. And then it's frustrating to just be told, 'I'll make the decision, not you.'"
A FedEx representative emailed MTN about the accident.
"We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by this accident and will work with those directly involved to resolve this matter as quickly as possible."
