Looking for simple woodworking projects that can be done in a day? Or how about an hour? What about simple tools? What about cheap wood? Or even a free wooden pallet.
Well, today I'm rounding up some of my favorite little woodworking projects you can do for your home. All of these carpentry jobs can be done with a few basic tools, which I'll cover below.
Oh, and most of them don't require much more than pieces of wood. Call me plain and simple, but I really enjoy working with pine and think it stains beautifully.
I hope these projects will inspire you to create something beautiful for your home. Believe me, the most difficult thing, figuratively speaking, is to "take a hammer". Just start and it will go from there.
Speaking of theme. How to Age a Tree
In fact, I have rarely spent the past year like this. Anything that needed to be done at home, I usually called my husband. But nothing more. In less than a year, I gained the confidence to complete projects and fix things around the house myself.
Now I keep a list of projects I want to do for the house. And of course share here! So let's get started.

Favorite Woodworking Resource/Inspiration
Although I learned a lot about woodworking from my dad and husband, here are some of my favorite sources for learning more.
- Woodworking for mere mortals. easy to reproduce and full of good advice. He has an excellent teaching style.
- Ana White Woodworking - she's awesome! I think he has a manual for just about everything.
- Pretty Handy Girl - You will love Brittany as much as I do. There are so many wonderful projects on her site and she has a great way to teach beginners.
I'm inclined to do the things I want to buy. When I see a nice table or stool, the first thing I do is try to figure out how to make it. Or I'll see if I can save him. Sometimes this can be a cheaper option as lumber prices are a bit crazy right now.
I will definitely add simpler wood projects to this list when I run out. And believe me, I have a lot of things I want to try. I invite you to try!
