Victim Of Fatal Stabbing At Park In Petts Wood Named And Pictured For First Time

Police have named and photographed the victim of a fatal stabbing at a park in Pets Wood for the first time.

Max Moy Wheatley was found injured in Jubilee Park, off Tent Peg Lane, on September 20 at around 2.30pm.

The 19-year-old boy died immediately on the spot.

His family enjoys the support of specialized agents.

An autopsy conducted on September 22 showed that the cause of death was a stab wound to the heart.

Special forces operatives are conducting the investigation.

While the police are still investigating, no arrests have been made.

Detective Chief Inspector Laura Semple said: “Our thoughts are with Max's family and friends as they continue to cope with having him taken from them in such a violent way.

“My team are continuing to work in the area and we are reviewing local CCTV footage to try to determine exactly what happened.

“Today I am again asking for your help. Were you in the area at the time of the attack? We need to know what you saw or heard. Has anyone told you anything that could help us?

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “Detectives are resuming their appeals for witnesses as they identify the teenage victim of a fatal stabbing in Bromley.

“An investigation was launched after the Ambulance Service of London called police at around 2.30pm on Wednesday September 20 to reports of a man being stabbed at Jubilee Country Park, off Tent Peg Lane in Pettswood.

“Officers and Kent Ambulance attended. Despite their efforts, the man unfortunately died on the spot.

“His name today is Max Moy Whitley, 19, from the Orpington area.

"His family continues to receive support from specialists.

“An autopsy conducted on Friday, September 22, revealed that the cause of death was a stab wound to the heart.

"Special forces operatives are conducting the investigation.

“Detectives would also like to hear from anyone who may have filmed the incident or obtained video footage which could assist their investigation.

“There is a dedicated online portal via https://mipp.police.uk/operation/01MPS23V71-PO1 where images and photographs can be uploaded.
