Speaking to the Gulf Times recently about the Southeast Asian country's food exports to Qatar, Hasan noted that Indonesia is working not only to increase trade, but also to expand ties in the fields of investment and knowledge exchange .
“We have been working with Baladna for a long time. Two Indonesian companies have already signed a memorandum of understanding with them. Of course, we should see progress on more technical details. But at least the communication is long enough,” the ambassador explained.
In May this year, Baladna, Qatar's leading dairy producer, signed a memorandum of understanding with Indonesia's PT Perkebunan Nusantara III and PT Berdikari to collaborate on dairy ventures.
PT Perkebunan Nusantara III specializes in product processing and agribusiness. However, according to Qatar News Agency (QNA), PT Berdikari mainly deals with agricultural infrastructure services and agricultural management systems.
The report states: “The joint efforts proposed in a statement published on the Qatar Stock Exchange website on Monday aim to collaborate, share information and experiences to identify, evaluate and launch projects related to the Indonesian dairy sector. its agricultural and livestock industries, as well as Indonesia's healthy livestock infrastructure, are building it to improve food security.
“Baladna has signed similar agreements with leading companies in the Philippines and Malaysia as part of its efforts to expand the dairy company's successful business model to other countries to improve global food security.”
Hasan also assured Indonesia's support for Qatar's food security strategy, saying the country already works with regional neighbors and other countries to export various products.
"The issue of food security is one of the important agendas of many countries. Indonesia is also working on it and we cooperate with many countries, including Qatar," Hassan explained, adding that Indonesia is one of the largest fruit exporters. Villages.
