The 2022 FDMC Price Review goes back to basics: just three layouts, all with Shaker-style kitchens, but all with significant differences that should highlight price fluctuations.

For 24 years, Price Research has been the only tool in the custom woodworking industry to help shops decipher price differentials for custom woodworking projects. The survey takes completed projects from real stores and provides specifications and preliminary drawings for each store attempting to evaluate a project. Bidding information is collected and published in the FDMC Journal and online at the Woodworking Network for store comparison, including information on materials, assembly hours, store prices, and other important information.

This year's study is sponsored by Lockdowel and the best project is one built using the Lockdowel mounting system. Of course, you can request a project even if you don't use Lockdowel. We want to see what kind of price difference a woodworking method can make.

Lockdowel Kitchen is a large luxury kitchen with a shaker style door. Some of the features of this kitchen include a two-tiered T-island, upper cabinets with illuminated glass doors, tall partial glass doors with internal glass shelves, and a custom wood hood. There is also a passage to the pantry, disguised as a closet door.

The second kitchen is less elaborate, but also has a number of features, while being the ubiquitous design, the white Shaker kitchen. Two opposite wall cabinets with an island in the middle. Again, this is done in full coverage style.

This year's third kitchen is a shaker-style kitchen that transitions into a U-shaped room that houses a pantry and wine cellar. A full coverage face frame design can be realized even without a frame design without sacrificing style features.

You can download the application package online at https://www.woodworkingnetwork.com/pricing-survey. We will be happy to send you a paper copy if you wish. Simply email will.sampson@woodworkingnetwork.com or call 203-512-5661.

But don't delay. All work must be returned by September 26 to be part of the full report published in the November issue of FDMC and posted on woodworkingnetwork.com.
