Two people who met and married for their love of wood and now share a passion for art. Rich Carrell and Sarah Loin are the featured artists at the Local Artists Village gallery in April. Handmade wooden products are unique. On April 7th, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, they will be having a First Friday event where they will be showcasing a wooden steamer, spoon and fork set, and other wood products. First Friday event.
Since people stopped living in caves and started living in huts made of tree branches, wood has become an important structural and decorative material for houses. Humanity's relationship with wood to build a house - in history, culture and experience - is deep, permanent and universal. Partly because wood is abundant, it is economical, strong and flexible. But in our ongoing love for wood, each piece of wood is as unique as we are, and the color, texture and grain are as individual as each person's personality, so we continue to discover new aspects of its beauty. diversity
Separately, Karel and Lloyd have honed their carpentry skills as artists over the years. They met at a woodworking club event in Southern California in 2005. Karel and Loynd shared their creative vision and quickly combined their ideas of marriage and art. Wood touches us all in a real and personal way.
After ten years of planning, Carell and Lloyd built a large studio on their property after moving from California and now have a place to store and create in a comfortable and inspiring space. The 2,000 square meter workshop allows them to take their creativity to the next level, add new tools and explore great artwork.
Creating new furniture designs is an area that Carell continues to explore. Over the years, he intends to incorporate new materials into his works: metal, glass, stone and resin. The commitment to using reclaimed wood collected over the years in the guitar industry is never wavered. He believes that wood is too valuable a resource to waste. Rich and Sarah work together to improve their carpentry skills. Together they join forces to create beautiful wooden works of art.
Kerel and Loynd are ready for custom work. They offer custom signs and plaques, as well as furniture. Working with the client's ideas, they discuss, design and manufacture the perfect parts to meet the client's needs.
