Table saws are at the top of the list of options for DIYers and experienced woodworkers. These powerful saws cut more accurately than circular saws and are better at cutting larger materials than miter saws, such as wood, plastic, and aluminum sheeting. Some people cut certain types of material better than others, so we've rounded up some of the best table saws in our test.
Basically, the main function of a table saw is to rip or cut a board to length. While users can create bevel cuts, cross cuts, miter cuts, and even notched bevel cuts, the primary purpose of this power tool remains ripping.
Whether building bookshelves, building a garage, or even creating trim for a wall, a table saw in the shop can speed up the project. In this guide, we list some of the best saws on the market based on our practical tests and explain what these types of saws are used for in any shop.

How we test the best table saws
The editorial team behind this guide is made up of former carpenters and general contractors; we both have a lot of experience with various sizes of table saws. We understand what users are looking for and how different models meet their needs.
In addition to our professional experience, we have studied the saws on the market and informed ourselves of the latest innovations before trying them out. We've looked at everything from safety to production to mobility—in the shop or on the construction site or in and out of the truck. Our main considerations:
- power Although depth of cut is important, most table saws are 10-inch models and the specifications are very similar. While its primary role in home shops and construction sites is ripping dimensional lumber that doesn't require a lot of capacity, splitting power varies widely and is a key feature for those cutting large sheets. We make sure to find solutions for all types of users.
- Size and portability. For many users, a compact and portable table saw is the ideal solution. For others, physical size is less important than strength and stamina. Our wide selection includes saws that are ideal for those who work with these tools on the site or in small spaces at home, as well as those who have a large workshop on hand.
- brand and value. We steer clear of cheap table saws that often lack durability and reliability. While buying from premium brands may mean you pay a bit more, it almost always means better value in the long run.
When it comes to testing, we rated each saw on our list for strength and vibration, and even included saw blades milled from pressure-treated southern yellow pine, dried and cured for a month. We developed a 1x8 material and wanted both smoothness and dust control (no dust collection system) using cellular PVC covers. We also evaluated the included stand, switches and adjustments, and considered the overall feel of using the tool, from weekend chores, garden or shed construction, to month-long setups for home renovations.
We updated our initial testing by running 2 pressure-treated lumber, finger-jointed 1x8 pine, plywood, and composite decking on each saw to test everything from strength and vibration to dust and vibration generation. We evaluated the consistency, deflection and smoothness of the fence along the railing. We also consider portability and storage.
Our top picks
Table saws have a wide range of users, needs, and requirements. When evaluating the range of table saws in our hands-on tests, it wasn't easy to see so much on this spectrum. But it has to land somewhere. It's worth noting up front that every tool in this review lived up to its design promise.

The stand's integrated folding legs are lightweight, strong and easy to install. The saw is lightweight yet powerful enough to cut through wood like a boss. The included blade leaves a lot to be desired, but it's easy to change. The fence ran parallel to the blade out of the box and was very easy to carry to the job site or move around the shop. We love that it stores in a bucket when not in use.
The push button switch takes some getting used to, and we wish the neck plate was steel instead of plastic, but precision is there in everything from power to the saw's maneuverability, from handling of processed wood to the construction of a bridge to a house. to cry
The dust inlet elbow on this model should be missing from any table saw; With a 22.5 degree angle, it allows the user to pour the powder into a box or bucket. It's a simple, smart and very useful feature.

This affordable desktop rechargeable battery is perfect for light jobs. The fence was square and parallel to the box. Hardly fancy, but it works. The saw is light and portable and packs a lot of power. It is not an animal and it is a trait.
Some professionals can even find exactly what they need with a simple and inexpensive configuration. Performance wise it performed well with 1x8 and composite tires. But there was a problem with taking out the chips. A fan would easily be an added help. It does not have a high leg, but it should be placed at table height for optimal and safe use.

A little known fact is that the Bosch 10-Inch Table Saw is a game-changing table saw. Bosch has been making a version of this saw with very few visible changes for 20 years (that's good). It was this saw that transformed the table saw from a small, mostly useless tool into a sturdy, stable, wheeled field tool.
The fence is great with a smooth slide along the rail which we really enjoyed. The paddle switch is nice and the included blade is nice. Its soft but not too soft start makes the saw practical for use in the shop or on the jobsite where a million cuts a day must be made.
The support is solid and the slowdown speed for raising and lowering the blade is excellent. Rips through treated wood with twice the dust release. It has the best metric gauge of the bunch, the best touch bars ever, and a nice skinny fence.
Like all tools in this category, this saw is heavy. Yes, it does have a set of wheels, but it's a two person job to get it onto the truck.

Built by woodworkers, the Sawstop JSS Pro Jobsite Table Saw is based on the table saw that introduced meat detection technology to the market. It is aimed at intensive users who want a high-quality finish and work mainly with aged wood. First in the fencing class. Its "thin wood" retractable fence is a great feature that will appeal to serious woodworkers.
The collapsible cart works well and the storage on the table is great. Blade depth adjustment moves the blade from zero to full height with a twist, another premium feature. And meat detection technology is both encouraging and disturbing. It receives the electrical impulse and registers your finger if it is close enough to cut the blade.
Although there is a bypass mode to test if the sensors respond to wet wood, it is difficult to press the correct button sequence. However, it is a great saw for pruning or garage woodworking projects. It does what a stationary table saw does, but is portable and safe.

Although the front legs are open at the front of the saw, the DeWalt DWE7491RS is ideal for long cuts in heavy material. It is by far the most durable tool of the bunch.
The legs close and open, although they are not identical, which takes some getting used to. To begin with, the table was flat out of the box and the blade was parallel to the fence. The DeWalt designed rack and pinion works great.
It has an excellent 24 tooth saw for the "rough carpenter" . The tool has a good switch and slightly slower blade height crank than the other tools, and it was solid on the bevel release. Overall, a high quality saw at a very good price.

This Ridgid table saw does all the basics right. It has large cutting capacity, folding wheel, good performance and good dust emission. 3.5 inches of cutting capacity means 4x4s can be cut in half. There are many saws at a good price.
However, the fit and finish was not top notch. The fence had to be glued on and the table assembled out of the box (it was easy to assemble and worked well). It does not easily slide on the rails, and a fence that is difficult to move or requires adjustment is difficult for professional users.
It also has a smooth start that users new to spreadsheets will appreciate. There was a problem for people, and it had to be subjective. Of course, it is more comfortable, but in the elite area, there are a lot of people who push it.
