New England Carpentry Contest Announcement

Hobbyists and professional carpenters are invited to participate in New England's first annual carpentry competition held in October at the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center & Planetarium, 31 College Drive, Concord. The event is hosted by the nonprofit Troopers Guild of New Hampshire. All levels of experts are invited to participate. The judges will evaluate the participants according to their skills and experience in 11 categories. The fraternity offers free admission to high school students. In addition to the prize money, you will find a small lathe, tools and a high-quality saw.

Annual Drinking Water Quality Reports for Portsmouth, Peace and New Castle

PORTSMOUTH - The City's Water Department is sending copies of its annual water quality report to customers in the water systems (including parts of New Castle) and Pease (port of Pease and part of Newington).

By 2022, both water systems meet all water quality standards set by the EPA and the state Department of Environmental Protection, the city said.

The Triple C stable rescues horses in need

South Berwick, Maine. Horses are Kathy Murphy's passion and she has made it her mission to rescue and care for as many horses in need as possible.

Murphy and his family own Triple C Stable at 3 McLean Drive in South Berwick, Maine. Like many stables, they offer boarding, riding lessons and summer camps, but Murphy's horse care is taken to a whole new level.

A portion of the proceeds from all Triple C services and events goes towards the care, nutrition and rehabilitation of rescued horses.
