SpectreVision, the production company of Elijah Wood and Daniel Noah , is leaving the worlds of film and video games and opening a new premium collector's store for fans of video games and pop culture. Additionally, along with Team League , Alamo Drafthouse founder and Talon Entertainment CEO Steven Daimler , the company is partnering with a creative team that knows how to create unique memories. The former team behind Mondo, including co-founder Eric Garza . and Mitch. Putnam . Under the new name "Mutant", the group focuses on creating limited edition artwork that reflects the high quality of Mondo's best work, as well as vinyl soundtracks, "experiential events" that are unique and good. Even more. .
Mutants will create memories for pop culture fans young and old, using the expert skills of a team who know and love true television, movies, video games, music and art. Although it has partnerships with Disney, Universal, Warner Bros. and Netflix, among other major production companies, the new company promises to sign deals with independent filmmakers, studios and artists of all kinds to celebrate even the most underrepresented intellectuals. Features : Like Mondo before it, Mutant plans to work directly with artists around the world to create original works.
To begin their collection, the team began with a selection of memorabilia from current and upcoming films. The first is the vinyl soundtrack to Jay Beyoncé's Oscar-nominated survival film The Snow Society , which dominated the Netflix charts earlier this year. The vinyl release features a collection of music by acclaimed Werewolf by Night composer and director Michael Giacchino , including sheet music by Beyoncé and a cover by former Mondo creative director Moe Shafek . Next up is Wonka Chocolate Hit with lyrics by Neil Hannon and an original score by Joby Talbot , Aaron Horkey in collaboration with Pressure Printing, another vinyl record presented in giant art print packaging. The other New Mutant project he could reveal at this point would take the team back to its Mondo roots while planning Dune: Part II of the poster series for the March 1 release of the sci-fi epic .
Garza and Putnam will join other Mondo creative directors at Mutant who left the company after Funko's restructuring last year, including Chaffek and Spencer Hickman , who will co-head the music department. They're joined by Mutant CEO Jenny Jacoby , another Mondo veteran with a long list of leadership roles at Valve, Alamo Drafthouse, SXSW, Sundance and the Telluride Film Festival. For future releases, the team already has a lot planned , including posters by Nicolas Delort, Matt Taylor, Deb Lee, Phantom City Creative, Rory Kurtz, Matthew Woodson, Greg Ruth, Francesco Francavilla, Teagan White, and Daniel Danger. . . , Murugia, We Buy Your Children and Ken Taylor, as well as scores by Hans Zimmer, Carter Burwell, Isabella Summers, Goblin, Laura Karpman, Le Matos, Simon Waskow and more.
Working with the team that helped make Mondo a pop culture icon was a dream come true for Wood and Noah. The Lord of the Rings star was a particularly vocal critic when Funko decided to shut down the company's iconic movie poster division. For everyone involved , Mutant is seen as an opportunity to keep that legacy stronger than ever with a new name and new leadership . In a statement, Wood and Noah praised the team, saying:
